Universal Hose & Braid was founded in Chicago in 1942, and has been continiously engaged in manufacturing of strip wound and corrugated metal hose. Hyspan purchased Universal in 1995. Universal manufactures industrial weight corrugated hose made from stainless steel, carbon steel and bronze. Square locked and interlocked strip wound hose is made from 1/16" diameter through 20" diameter in a variety of flexibilities including "floppy" which is widely used for armor and bend restrictors.
